I’m Joshua Natarajan, founder of BioSynthArt Studios, where I build creature engines for art and games with small AI models.

This newsletter is where I think out loud — usually with an AI co-writer — about AI internals, safety, dystopia, philosophy, and the patterns underneath things. Some posts are technical. Some are speculative. Some sit closer to philosophy than engineering. Most try to look at what’s actually happening inside these systems, and what kind of world they’re pulling us toward, rather than what gets projected onto them.

A note on the format: everything here is free, and I don’t plan to monetize. No paywalls, no paid tiers, no “subscribe to read the rest.” I’m not against people who charge — I just want this to be a place to think. If something here is useful to you, the best thing you can do is send it to someone else who’d care.
